Biological Outcomes of this project: An increase of anadromous and resident salmonids, of all life stages and species, within the Yakima Basin. 100 percent protection from mortality and/or injury for all species and life stages of anadromous and resident salmonids--including bull trout and steelhead which come in contact with irrigation diversions. An increase of egg-to-smolt survival through increased protection of emergent fry from entrainment in irrigation diversions.
Biological Data: On going evaluations conducted under Projects # 8506200 by PNNL confirms that Yakima Basin Phase II fish screens constructed to the current criteria and properly operated and maintained protected fish from injury/mortality, entrainment, and achieve bypass guidance rates in the 90-95 percent range (Blanton et al. 1998).
