Section 2: Financial Information/Budget for Rescheduled Activities
Original Budget for Rescheduled Activities FY 2007: $30,429
Proposed Budget for Rescheduled Activities FY 2008: $11,173
Explanation or Additional Information: Work proposed for 2007 under this funding was intended to be conducted by a graduate student under supervision of Dr. Chris Peery. This work was delayed because we were not able to find a suitable applicant until late in 2007. A portion of the original funds will be used for planned field data collection, primarily to pay for labor and travel expenses for a research technician. Thus we are requesting to reschedule the remainder of the projected unspent funds (approximately $11K) to FY 2008 time period. We anticipate these re-scheduled funds will help offset planned 2008 expenses.

Section 3: Financial Information/Budget for Rescheduled Activities
Activity Description Original Start Date Original End Date New Start Date New End Date Condition/Situation Creating the Need to Reschedule Cost What Will Enable the Work to be Achieved Now?
Partial payment of annual graduate student stipend.  6/1/2007  5/31/2008  6/1/2008  5/31/2009  Adequate graduate student candidate could not be found.  $11,173  Graduate student candidate has been identified.

Please explain why the following alternative funding solutions are not feasible and would jeopardize the project:
Reducing existing scope of project
(i.e., eliminating some activities planned for FY 2008 to accommodate the FY 2007 activities)
We believe tasks assigned to UI graduate student can still be completed within the time frame of the original funding agreement. Project PIs will seek additional funds from BPA or other sources if necessary to assure tasks are completed.
Shifting entire schedule
(i.e., deferring some FY 2008 activities to FY 2009 to avoid doubling up on activities this year)
The delay in starting tasks assigned to the UI graduate student will not add additional tasks to the 2008 workload.
