The project was completed under budget. OCD cost-shared with NRCS (EQIP) on this project and NRCS funds ended up covering the cost of the entire project thus there was nothing left for the District to provide cost-share on. The money needs to be freed up to complete more on-the-ground work for next FY08.
Wanacut Creek $1,662.12 (water development), $3857.40 (fence)= $4869.07 The funds for these projects need to be rescheduled to FY08 due to cultural resource complications. NRCS is the lead CR agency on this project and as such the CR survey is set to take place late July 2008- early August 2008. All said, the necessary support documentation will not be completed in time to finish the project before FY07 funds expire.
Stokes $3960.00 (fence) The funds for this project need to be rescheduled for FY08 due to cultural resource complications. By the time the necessary CR paperwork from the USFS arrived it was nearly July. Now, the area has had seasonal fire restrictions placed on it so small engine operation is restricted to certain hours of the day. Starting and attempting to finish the project this time of year is risky due to the fact that the USFS could close the forest completely before the project is finished. Forests do not typically re-open until September 15th , after the first fall rains have started.
Hays $1766.61 (fence) The project was completed under budget. OCD cost-shared with NRCS (EQIP) on this project. $1766.61 were the remaining funds after 7765 ft of fence had been installed. Mr. Hays would like to use the remaining funds to pay for the fencing required for the livestock hardened access points still remaining to be installed. Due to contractor availability, the hardended access watering points cannot be completed until September 2008. Therefore, the money needs to be rescheduled for FY08.

|Reducing existing scope of project
(i.e., eliminating some activities planned for FY 2008 to accommodate the FY 2007 activities)
|The budget is limited for all three years and reducing the scope from year to year would cause logistical problems with providing enough costshare to keep the program operating and landowner interest peaked. OCD does not expect to be funded beyond the FY07-FY09 period.|
|Shifting entire schedule
(i.e., deferring some FY 2008 activities to FY 2009 to avoid doubling up on activities this year)
|Again the budget is limited for all three years; shifting the entire schedule is not an option because the program would dissolve and OCD would loose program participation due to a lack of available cost-share.|
